Put in one AirPod so you can hear me play while I listen to you.
I grade every string through your phone's mic.

Play-along strums the song with you ·
Call & response plays a bar then hands it to you ·
Speed nudges the tempo up each time you nail a section.

On AirPods, pick iPhone Microphone here — if iOS uses the AirPods mic it
drops into call mode and playback goes tinny. Check for bleed plays a chord
and tells you whether the mic can hear me; if it can, I'd be grading my guitar instead of yours.
TODAY'S PRESCRIPTION
A rep counts only when every string of the shape
is ringing. A muted string isn't a rep. That's a harder bar than any other app sets, and it's the
whole point — the number has to be real or the target it sets tomorrow is a lie.

WHY IT'S BUILT THIS WAY
Every other guitar app teaches a curriculum: watch a lesson, pass a level,
unlock the next one. That measures how much you've been shown. It doesn't measure what your hands can do,
which is why the most common review of every one of them is
"I finished the course and still can't change chords in time."
This is training. Sets and reps, a target that moves with your own numbers,
and a tempo at the end that is calculated from what you just did rather than
picked off a menu. Clear the target and it goes up. Miss it badly and it comes down, on purpose —
grinding a number you can't hit cleanly just teaches your hand the wrong shape.

ONE-MINUTE CHANGE TEST
The drill that actually builds speed: switch between two chords
as many times as you can in 60 seconds. I only count changes I can hear cleanly.

Wear headphones when play-along is on. Strings playing the same note in two
octaves (the two C's in a C chord) can't be told apart — those show dimmed.

Turn your phone sideways
The note highway needs the long edge. Prop the phone up in front of you —
and take the case off if the mic sounds muffled.
